We are hiring an apprentice through the Rogue Farm Corp (For info on position click this link) and a crew member (details below).

Crew Member Job Summary
This position will work very closely with the farm owner in almost all aspects of our small farm including: seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvest, wash/pack, irrigation, fertilizing and all aspects of winter vegetable crop care. As the season progresses, this person will help to co-lead our small crew consisting of part time workers, an RFC intern, and volunteers particularly in transplant and weeding tasks and will also work closely with the farm owner to co-lead the harvest and wash/pack during the harvest months (Sept-Feb). Some tractor work is an option depending on interest and experience.
Schedule: This is a year-round part time position with hours changing with the season. Work days are 8-9 hours depending on the workload. We normally work 7:30-4:15 in the spring/summer months and 8-4:45 in the fall/winter months with a 45 min lunch break.
March-July: 24 hours/week (Wed-Fr)
July-March: 32 hours/week (Tu-Fr)
Compensation:
- $18/hour to start with potential to increase to $19 once the responsibilities increase in the fall/winter.
- Access to any of the many veggies we grow.
- Year-end bonus in December (Dependent on farm profits this season).
- Trades for other non-veggie goods available at the farmers market Sundays
- Opportunities for growth. We work side by side with our employees and are very open to passing on our knowledge and finding ways to help folks grow as farmers.
These are some attributes that we are looking for in an applicant:
- At least 1 full season of farm crew experience (not an internship) on a production farm, preferably with some type of responsibility
- Able to perform manual labor in harsh weather conditions. This is a must! Winter farming is hard and prior winter farming work or equivalent is preferable.
- Detail-oriented and able to meet our high standards, especially in harvest quality, wash pack and consistency
- Wash/pack or equivalent experience
- Able to work quickly and efficiently and lift 50 lbs repeatedly
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Able to work independently and as a team.
- Experience with hand weeding and tools, particularly stirrup hoeing and hand hoeing
- Listens well and takes direction. Able to take constructive feedback from managers
- Able to take initiative but also knows when to ask questions
- Has reliable transportation
- Can commit to a full season
- Ability to drive a manual vehicle is not mandatory, but a plus!
